Privacy Policy

This policy explains the visitor information this private reference site receives, how it is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. By using the site, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool, which processes the query and supplies any result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, we retain the message to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page is loaded, our servers may receive technical information about the visit, including:

  • Your device's IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Viewed pages and time spent on them
  • The referring site, when one is available
  • Page-view timestamps

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as frequently used pages and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although that choice may affect how parts of the site operate.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operating the site and improving page-load performance
  • Routing a submitted search to the relevant partner service
  • Assessing which pages are useful and which need improvement
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Court-Record Data on File

This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It provides general guidance about public access to Wabasha County court records through Wabasha County District Court Administration and MCRO. Minnesota judicial-record access is governed by Minn. R. Pub. Access 3, 4, and 8, while Minn. Stat. § 13.90 places the Judicial Branch outside the ordinary Data Practices Act framework. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Information entered there is governed by the applicable partner policy, not this policy. Partners control their own retention and sharing practices, so review their policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

The site links to Court Administration pages, MCRO, court portals, legal-aid resources, and outside search tools. A link opens a separate website governed by that site's privacy policy. Review it before providing personal information.

Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to deliver targeted advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with:

  • Search partners that process queries made through this site
  • Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
  • Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
  • Law-enforcement or government entities when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for information we collect. No internet-connected system is entirely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that an incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor has provided information to us, notify us so it can be removed.

Your Data Rights

Minnesota's court-record access rules are Minn. R. Pub. Access 3, 4, and 8, with Minn. Stat. § 13.90 directing access to Judicial Branch records through Supreme Court rules. Those authorities govern judicial records, rather than a private site's visitor-data practices. Depending on where you live, applicable privacy or consumer-protection law may provide additional rights over your data. At a minimum, you can:

  • Request a copy of information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of certain data-processing activities

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this privacy policy. A revision will appear on this page with an updated effective date.

Effective date: August 27, 2026
